Last night we watched Enemy Mine, which is a bit of a cult classic.
The acting in this is strong. Dennis Quaid's assholish character goes through a believeable growth arc as he becomes more empathic. Louis Gossett Jr. steals the show and conveys so much emotion and nuance under all that makeup.

The last third is a standard action/rescue piece, but it feels repetitious and sluggish.
Could you imagine a movie like this being made today? Nobody would want to touch this. Or they'd turn the last act into the whole movie b/c 'action!' XD
