In any case, the use of other people's data to teach the training models is an issue. On the other hand, how does a person learn to interpret the world around them? However, the common point of criticism should be that generated image material should never be used for documentation or journalism...

When we talk about the inspiration artists get from other’s work and the data used by Ai we need to look at perception, intention and authenticity. People are able to make selective and creative choices to draw from their inspiration. We don’t know how AI is doing this and to what extend.

I’m not saying one is better than the other, but I like the human aspect in art. Which I find difficult to recognize in completely generated Ai images.
But when it is combined with human generated images it opens up a whole new way of creating art.

Yes, of course, I won't give up photography either, maybe even expand it further; I really like the human factor, too. I'm pretty sure my interest in AI is also due to the fact that I'm a full-time engineer - alongside photography - so I just need to know how things work 🤷🏼‍♂️😅

That's a good comparison... or perhaps the invention of photography, when painting was still the only method of transferring motifs onto paper in two dimensions, causing many painters to go on the barricades against this diabolical technique.
