Been playing Assassin's Creed Shadows and the film nerd in me has appreciated that they seem to have intentionally avoided stuffy, predictable Kurosawa homages and have instead opted to draw from more pulpy, more tonally appropriate samurai films like Baby Cart at the River Styx and Lady Snowblood
