I’m a data analyst and we just developed a custom report for a hospital NICU provider to monitor several key factors of care from flowsheet rows all over the place. He changed the criteria no less than a dozen times then complained we should be using AI to help speed up the turnaround time. 🤦‍♂️

Perhaps, but it feels fairly human-like, because, like people, they react to your emotional state in lots of different ways, small and large. Who knows what’s going on under the hood, but it’s satisfying that anger and frustration get treated with an appropriate response.

The problem with your analogy is that you assume all AI uses the same LLM network--thus more people equals a limiting jam in the bitstream. That's not the case. I can get code from Windsurf in seconds and fix it in minutes. That's just better.

That is a mathematically incorrect statement. Let's say that instead they had taken 30 days and 33 hours. They're not "200%" less efficient. Efficiency is about waste, not time. If you take an extra hour to refactor and that hour saves you three in the future, that is improving efficiency.

But you can't tell that just from raw "hours". How do you know someone didn't say, "Hey, AI came up with an idea." and six of those hours were a meeting. What if the "wasteful" group found an error the first hasn't seen yet? The horror of AAA gaming is, in part, related to the "hours" obsession.
