Get them in a corner and throw a wad of decorative fishnetting over them. Pretty easy to get them tangled enough to get a box or a bowl over them. Slide a piece of cardboard underneath and remove from premises.
In my experience, they come in pairs, but they're cute. Best of luck
Wirecutter had good mousetrap recs. It’s not ideal I know but it’ll work.
We’ve been dealing with this too - they were having a good time in our pantry
Put some peanut butter on a Tupperware lid. While he’s eating the peanut butter, put the container onto its lid. Plastic mouse prison. Take him outside.
Whoa! That’s a smart one. Time to call an exterminator. If that finds another smart one, & they breed — well you’re gonna have a Ratatouille situation on your hands!!
No seriously. Peanut butter doesn't do jack. For our mouse infestation we broke parts of a Snickers bar off and jammed it in the traps. The little bastards were getting trapped left and right. It was like crack for mice.
Also I say "trapped" but we were sick of them. These traps snapped their necks.
Granted they only became a problem after our cat passed away. She not have been a good mouser but she was one hell of a deterrent. Went from having just one a year before to over a dozen right after she died.
One time I had an unwanted housemate who wouldn't go for peanut butter or apple, but I put some sunflower seeds in crumpled toilet paper in the trap and caught them. I read they like to collect TP for nests.
I had a rat problem in my chicken coop. Snap traps got like 2 before the rest figured it out. Live traps, basically cages with a trap door, got the rest. They never figured those out. Only problem was dealing with the trapped rat.
Also my mom swears by bucket traps for mice specifically.
lol I was chasing a mouse once with the “help” of the cat who would catch it, release it, I would clumsily attempt to grab it and miss even though the opportunity was ripe, and this cycle repeated at least 5 times before I finally got him
Seriously, when I had 3 cats in a rental years ago, they chased a mouse into the bathroom. When I summoned the courage to go in there, I discovered it dead without a mark on it. I think it died of sheer terror.
Yes! I had that happen when two ganged up on one mouse. Also, more recently we adopted two kittens. Our older cat tried to teach them and brought a mouse she caught. One kitten was scared of the mouse and the other one wanted to play with it lol
Get a snake, let it go get the mouse, get a mongoose to go get the snake, get an eagle or something for the mongoose, get, I dunno, an elephant to take care of the eagle, get a mouse to take ca- oh wait.
In my time in this city, when it comes to rodents — not to brag — but I’ve gone from Tom Hanks in Cast Away injuring himself trying to catch a fish to nonchalantly spearing one for lunch. I’ve lost some good pans and garbage cans along the way.
What did you use as bait? Peanut butter with bacon have been helpful for me. Do you have a trap in the fireplace? I once saw one crawling around my stove 😱 and then put a trap in the oven and caught several.
That is a fairly large mouse. It might not be alone. The good news is that if your cat will not eat mice, then you can use poison. In one of my old homes a single mouse turned out to be an extended family.
You need these. And if you live in an apartment, you'll probably need to keep one or two baited all the time - unless your landlord is willing to have the building professionally sealed.
Bucket. Cardboard larger than opening of bucket.
2 choices.
1 Crawl in bucket. Pull cardboard over opening. Mouse gets house, you now live in bucket.
2 cardboard over mouse, hit cardboard. Clean up goes in bucket.
Ok, fine.
Boring old 3. Bucket over mouse, cardboard slid in under, release Jerry.
Marshmallow fluff and some kinda peanut or nut butter is what got the ones we had that the cats didn't get, use live traps or snap traps (the sticky traps are cruel and not great chemical wise). Make sure you have no food or food waste otherwise accessible to them or else more will come.
Yep. This is when curreent cat gets a nasty surprise in that now there is a second cat, cat#2, hired to do what cat#1 failed at, and probably younger and cuter as an added insult.
I think it likely cat #1 has in fact dealt with the problem by eating it, from the update, though.

Herd the widdle fucker into the box, put the lid on it, remove it from the house.
Like in the above photo, you use the lid to knock him off the fireplace into the box and slam the lid shut.
Don't think badly of the cat, he could eat that one.

It looks like a Toby.
They often invite family over for thanksgiving
Creepy lil fuckers

There's gotta be a universe where Spider-Man is a mouse, right?

Does whatever a spider can🎶
Sell the house💀
Not your house, not your problems 😭
But poor next owners😭
We always used the sticky traps on mice, but I have no idea for spider mouse. (And obviously a hazard with the lazy cat)
