It's surprising how nearly 30 years after its release, Mario RPG is still arguably the best Mario RPG.

Like future games added things to the formula, but many of them lost the sense of scale RPG has. Having larger party sizes and actual magic helps a lot imo

It's a good game but too easy imo (I'm playing on normal) I honestly wish I played this before ttyd as that game has some more difficulty in places

This was on my "it's never gonna happen" list for a long time.

And then they just casually brought back all three Mario RPG series within a year.

Never been happier to be proven wrong.
