The fears of some are in a small way justified. Operation Yellowhammer was real. They'd probably try the same thing using martial law in Scotland if they thought they were losing. But we need to stand up and be counted!

I know a bit Scottish education, but I do know that over the last 20 years there have been several initiatives to improve critical thinking skills under various headings. There was separate to that increased emphasis on Scottish culture and language.

The curriculum for excellence also includes a broad general education with listening and talking being on an equal par with reading and writing. So class discussions etc are a big part of daily learning. I am hopeful that the younger generation will benefit from this in the future.
