Lots of great work on informal regulation of conflict in the night-time economy by Mark Levine, Richard Philpot (both at Lancaster Uni; not sure their on Bluesky!) and others
Stargazing as a potential form of nature connectedness/feeling part of something greater than ourselves (I just played our MSc students a clip of Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot speech yesterday when teaching about nature connectedness).
Perhaps lots of inspiration to be found in spiritual traditions that place any kind of emphasis on night and the moon, e.g., observing the cycles of the moon
I vaguely remember studies looking into the use of self-hypnosis to subjectively replicate ‘the night’ as a treatment for insomnia. This was 30 years ago, so a modern take on that, with the help of new imaging techniques, might be fruitful.
