I had a sleeping car booking for 2nd May and the bed numbers matched the new-generation stock.

ÖBB then said: "Due to an operational change, the train equipment on this train may still change."

I have never seen the double deckers in the Amsterdam-Innsbruck composition and according to Vagonweb [1] already now you would not find them there.

I was a little confused at first, because no 3-berth cabins were available on the date of our trip. I thought that I'd left it too late, but I now suspect that the newer carriages have 2-bed cabins only.

It's all good though: my parents are looking forward to travelling in the new ones this year!

The change to the new generation Nightjet for the Amsterdam - Austria trains is not a certainty. The bookings for after April 7 have recently opened, but only with seat/bed options that are only possible in both old and new trains.
