remind me again why literally every distro is forcing wayland by default? it actually pisses me off how the instant you want to do literally anything event remotely advanced the entirety of Wayland falls apart
As a result, the tray situation on Wayland is a disaster.
I discovered this when wanting to add a tray icon to a rust/GTK/Relm4 app I'm writing.
They argue there's replacement APIs, but not actually for all use-cases or desktop environments.
