This is my first year soil blocking. I started onions a couple of weeks ago, plus a few blocks of a sweet peppers. Onions look like they germinated pretty well, but it was a good call to start the peppers early - the germination rate was bad with only two growing. Not sure what I’m starting next!

Ahhh your on a great adventure. Sounds like you have a good plan. Peppers are always slow at first but they just keep producing when other stuff dies out! Makes up for it on the back end lol

Every year I grow a sweet pepper, Anaheim and jalapeño peppers and then one typically very hot pepper, last year was cayenne, the year before Carolina Reaper the year before that ghost peppers
Any suggestions for this year

I usually look at the colvin scale and get something the young tough guys think they can eat, they give up quick
I then end up drying and grinding and giving away the powdered peppers.
I do not eat things that my tongue, stomach, and other parts may take exception to

I grew Calabrian diavolicchio last year for drying. Prolific and very, very hot. Small plant did well in a pot on the patio.

It's missing the "Eve" of all the peppers-the chiltepin! Grew wild in the mountains of Sonora (& in a few canyons in So AZ) & was hybridized long ago by precolumbian locals over many generations into all the varieties today. Botanists traced DNA back to this tiny pepper. I grow them😉🌶️they are HOT!

A little haul from this summer. Many seeds kept. Sliced peppers and thrown in the freezer for later. I also have four plants inside that are growing well.
