“I’m not like that” but they often get mad if you ask if there was ever a time as a teenager (or even older than that) where the girl/woman was being evasive and “not sure” but they kept pressuring her. Or if they saw a mate draped over someone who looked visibly uncomfortable and did nothing.

The attacks might not be typical behaviour, but that lead-up to the bath with boundaries being gradually trampled was so familiar, and part of my visceral horror was the realisation that "nice" men have trained me all my life to not make a fuss and to let myself be manipulated into vulnerability.

they never say "I am not like that because i noticed men are fucking assholes and I have that potential to be stupid like them. so i constantly monitor my actions(as any human should do self awareness you know)thoughts." If a man lets other men be monsters then that man is a worse monster.
