Europe is thankfully guaranteed already, but the difference between 2nd and 3rd place for next season is huge, especially in a summer tournament year. We don’t want another Paris FC disaster.

Villa could be treated as an exception due to the rotation and the fatigue from Lyon. But we are now over a week past that, and this is now alarmingly looking like a trend that needs arresting. Thankfully, we have a week to reset before Man United, and another two after that before Barcelona.
