Frankfurt strikers give me pause (Marmoush might be the outlier), not really the best recent track record after getting big moves from there. I’m not really sold on any of the strikers in the market for this summer really.

Ekitike feels like an Arsenal player, Sesko feels like a Liverpool player. Personally, I feel like we need a Liverpool style attacker.
Sesko feels like what we need to complement that rest of the squad. Transitional game changer that can smash the ball off both feet. But is he involved enough?

This may be a silly question but as a casual observer it seems Sesko has been the next big thing for a while and I have only just had Ekitike pop onto my radar. Looking at these stats this seems counter intuitive. Is it due to Ekitike's recent form or has he always been the stat guys favorite?

Only a couple of years ago Newcastle almost signed Ekitike before it broke down and they ended up going for Isak. He's been on many radars for many years as a bright teenager at Reims. I think I'd prefer him over Sesko (Sesko has a bit of the Rasmus Hojlund about him 🤷‍♂️)

Couldn't disagree more strongly on the Højlund comparison, Šeško has played almost as much in the CL as Højlund did in Serie A, never dropped for poor form either (Højlund was). Ekitike never had production on the level of this season was my point, less about being of interest. Even at Reims.

I will bow to your knowledge as you have the numbers, I just remember Hojlund at Atalanta and having similar thoughts about Sesko, aka he's tall and strong, lovely touch & movement.
I'm ashamed to say I really liked him, and also Scamacca before he went to WHU so ignore my eye test 😂

Yeah my hot take is I don’t think Arsenal need another guy who’s good at combining but ultimately a disappointing goalscorer/finisher when it counts. Would rather take the guy who kicks the skin off the ball and consistently has for three seasons with lesser chances, give him more chances

What has Ekitike improved on? He's never really done anything as well as he's done at Frankfurt, save Reims being his best finishing season. I don't think he's got a higher floor, no. I think he plays in a better attack. I don't think he's got massive bust potential but €80m is a huge number

It feels like there is quite a shortage of top end talent in the market at the moment. Prices seem so high for any striker with potential and it seems the chances of finding a good deal are low. If Nwaneri develops into a 9 I think that could be a massive part of helping this squad improve.

Yeah possibly, would be worried about box presence and hold-up/outlet play with Nwaneri. Two things Šeško would count as strengths. He's not a top-end talent yet but the numbers I've seen tagged on him are more comfortable for me w/his track record. There are other options too imo
