Damn… that was powerful and Tiffany’s response was enlightening. As a parent, raising a child (who is now 19) living with complex-PTSD so much of what I have seen her go through makes so much more sense. Her explanation about flashbacks was the best I have heard. Thank you for sharing!

Same. I thought I was over my SA. Hadn’t thought about it in YEARS. But after Trump was elected in ‘16, I felt viscerally unsafe. At my core. Completely irrational. Couldn’t leave the house. Got diagnosed with PTSD.

The self-blame one has when what happened isn’t one’s fault.

I’m all too aware of the consequences. I was fortunate enough to get extensive therapy approximately 40 years ago. The PTSD therapy saved my life — literally.

I hear/feel u Cheri. I was date-raped in the 70s b4 date rape was a thing, legally or socially. My best friend had her virginity torn away by it. She & I knew it was rape, but we couldn't report it or even talk about it. We said "yes" to the date, so we must've done something to make it happen.

We both have, ty 🥰. Quite a few other friends, too. It was part of the culture. My mom included this in "the talk." We're younger, but Trump et al came frm that culture. We felt vindicated with the 1st conviction of a man who raped his estranged wife in the early 80s & date rape became a crime.
