🧠COVID's effect on Brain Development
Children who had mild COVID infections have brain changes in the left parietal & left occipital lobes, as well as altered network topology & enlarged choroid plexus volume suggesting virus-related neuroinflammation. https://buff.ly/TZto2uE

I saw so many patients w previously well controlled affective/anxiety disorders show major symptom flares after Covid infections (makes sense with a neurotropic vasculopathic infection).
I fear unfolding disaster in kids.
I hope we learn how to protect them and treat the damage already done soon - though probably an empty dream at this point.
I worry about repeated reinfections with a neurotropic virus.
And so many kids in the US only had the initial series (if any vaccine at all). Few are keeping up with seasonal flu and covid vaccines these days, so I worry that more are at risk of long term organ damage.
I'm seeing more kids and teens with a variety of symptoms than I did 10 yrs ago.
