I love these things, it's like a hippopotamus had a baby with a gharial.

I will forever be a little sad I won’t see amphibious whales in life. So majestically dorky.

I know right? There is nothing coming close to this among modern mammals

We have hippos which are the closest living relatives of whales.

Hippos are great but I want a mammal trying to be a crocodile

I imagine them with soft fur.
(Not as smooth as a shark, though)

Like elongated, giant sea otters with the Habsburg jaw!
