Just venting. I won a gift card, which is the only reason I was able to spend so much. As a solo parent without financial help from the other parental figure, you place your kid first. Period. I was able to place myself first for once, and this was the outcome.

I'm getting a refund, but I'm afraid if I order the same pair I wanted, they'll resend the used pair I just received. Will likely try Brooks.

I’m not a huge runner, but I’ve had good luck with Brooks, and my serious running buddies swear by them. FWIW. 🤷‍♂️

Running regularly in proper shoes improves health, fit, & energy. Thus you can work & take care of her better, hopefully, one way or another. Putting the kid first does not mean never investing on the mom. We need to have a balanced approach.

I would give Asics hell for shipping you used shoes.

I have some Brooks and they have been pretty good. Though they are not cheap. The online test they have for which shoes are for you is pretty nice.

I used to wear Saucony shoes when I was younger, but the last few times I tried them on, they didn't feel right, like I didn't have enough cushion.

Maybe you already know this, but every time I'm buying new shoes I hit https://runrepeat.com first. Shoes seem to be a very personal thing, so getting more details and viewpoints and weighing them against your own quirks is worth it.
