Just reinstalled my pull-up bar in the house, after at least five years without it up… and was very happy to find I can still do a pull-up!(Something I could never do in high school, and was once a source of shame…)

We just put one of this in. I can "hang" (I use the term loosely) for 30 seconds tops, putting my toes down once or twice for momentary relief. Gonna see if I can work up to a minute with a real hang. From there? Who knows.
Honestly, when I first got to one, I think it was more weight loss than strength gain. I've always carried most of my excess weight around the middle, and that's not prime pull-up arrangement....
I have never been able to do one but our gym has one of those pull up assist machines and now I am very close to being able to do one on my own and I'm very excited!
