I'm in Scotland, so think the legal framework isn't quite the same - but struggling to get my head round duty of care vs 'free speech'. And seeing how this concern is being driven by so many who don't seem bothered by the closing down of free speech in the US is something else...
Christ this is drivel. Why is it “unsurprising” that the University wishes to appeal? Because they lost or because they have any substantive grounds of appeal? The law on protected belief is settled, they haven’t got any grounds. What’s “unsurprising” is their willingness to piss public funds away.
