The rise of digital photography (and projection) has got to be the biggest case of the emperors new clothes I’ve seen in my lifetime. It’s cheaper and more convenient for filmmakers and exhibitors so we’re all just supposed to pretend it doesn’t look much worse than a 35mm theatrical presentation.
