I had a thought about Foundations being a living set with cards occasionally added or removed as opposed to getting replaced with a Foundations 2 at some point, but I don't know how well that would work with the paper game.

With six Standard sets per year, by 2029, Foundations will feel like ancient history, and because power creep is real and unavoidable, I doubt many FDN cards will still be seeing much Standard play by then. Regardless, though, the hype for Foundations 2 in 2030 will be off the charts!

Foundations feels like an incredible value add for the longevity of the game for new and old players, regardless of the format. My concern is the change to combat mechanics vis-á-vis blockers they announced, and the fact that Hasbro is the corporate equivalent of a tire fire that refuses to burn out
