Was always going to be a tough one tonight. Would have needed RBL level of performance to get the win and unfortunately we weren’t at that level. YB look v poor, so hopefully we can take the win v them.
Aye.. we looked off it in the 1st half.. big gaps when we lost the ball, similar to Dortmund game, but this time we never got punished. Anyhoo its another point towards staying in 👍
I think that’s a pretty harsh way to look at it. We gifted them a goal, Kasper had one good save and they missed that volley second half. Beyond that they didn’t really look like scoring. They looked dangerous on the break, but the final product was poor. Could have gone either way.
After the OG we were the better team. It is fine margins at this level. It could have gone either way. But on the balance of play a draw was a fair result.
Anyone thinking we will turn up and rollover young boys might be in for a surprise. If we play again like we did last night we won’t be winning any games at this level
They are poor for this level. We should be skelping them at home. We still need to turn up and play well, obviously, but they’re sitting below Slovan Bratislava for a reason.
You think? They lost 1-0 to inter and 2-1 to shaktar. Like I say, we will need to play at our best to win. Play like last night we will not beat anyone at this level.
They also lost 3-0 to Villa and 6-1 to Atalanta at home. They’re also 9th in their league with only 4 wins in 15. We’ll have to play well obviously. At least at the level of the second half for the whole game. But if we do that we should win the game comfortably.
All day long Paul. Was harem scarem at times. They were a good solid side weren't they. I tell myself champions league innit. Not many mugs at this level and we are competing (I think) 🍀
On balance I agree - at times second half there was chaotic periods, and there were opportunities for both sides in that chaos. We never really got control of the game for a sustained period.
Spot on - I’d swear the pitch needed watering if it hadn’t been for how well Brugge passed it! We under hit loads of passes and then over hit a few more. Valle’s passing was much crisper when he came on. Really saw the difference.
Brugge did a job on Celtic for a solid 45-55 mins of that game. Too many players were off it tonight for Celtic, also. AJ and Kuhn couldn’t get any link up play down the right, Hatate couldn’t make an impact, and Engles was poor. A good result considering, but a shame because they’re beatable.
They were excellent and we weren’t at our best (a lot of credit to them for stifling us tbf). As you say, too many of our best players not at a high enough level in the match.
