usually just regular old OBS, but i also use nvidia's geforce overlay thing to record last 30 seconds if something cool happened without OBS open

Yeah, OBS is great if you need to control multiple layers and want to get a little fancy with it but it does have a learning curve.

OBS is the best free way to do it, but if you wanna branch into both PC and console capture, El Gato capture card is the most common
