It's an all-time favorite.
I randomly found it in a bargain bin at KB Toys, back in the day. And the rest is beautiful history.

Definitely never beat the game cuz the final like 5 stages are way too hard and it punishes you so bad if you lose a life but this was one of my favorite co-op games as a kid

Realistically asking: Is it possible to beat it while using passwords? There are just some stages that it feels not feasible to beat starting from them. Like the Snakeoids stage around level...20 I think?

Yes! There are some later bonus levels you can access via a secret pick-up that are stocked with good items and weapons. It's just a more careful stockpiling game

It is of the type of old school game that uses difficulty as it's main form of replayability, and I am not someone who likes repeating things over and over again, so games like this are not beatable by me. But I do enjoy some of the easier portions of the game. It was a really cool game.
