It’s because they don’t know how big systems work and believe Fox News and lying politicians. It’s because they don’t know anything about government and just expected things to pretty much stay the same. Very mislead by con man and sociopaths.

The human race hasn't really evolved socially since tribal times. There are just far more of us, so we are forced to live with each other; most distrust or even actively hate those not in their "tribe" of around a hundred people that are similar to them.
