Personally I'm not fully opposed to some change there if you actually implement it well - if we're going to have tariffs, I'd rather they be evenly applied to all imports, rather than providing a huge incentive for less efficient international small parcel shipping...

Spotting clothing and knick-knacks by weight alone shouldn't be too hard but them placing it so high is going to include a lot of random goods and oddball equipment that isn't going to be easily identifiable without having someone take a box cutter to the package.

Would it not be possible to remove the exemption for commercial enterprises only and have the amount due at the end of the year? Say to Shein, you have to show us your books and pay X% of all your deliveries to America

The people creating the policies are high as a kite. They don't care that big policy requires people to implement. They're busy chasing away the very people who would do the implementation. Hiring is slow, but drug induced mania is fast.
