Councillor Purdy says she loves the already mature trees, but she doesn’t understand why we’d pay for trees that won’t be mature for at least a decade. Why would we want future benefit?

She is concerned about the property tax increase, and she consistently doesn’t want to pay for anything that will not immediately benefit her district. It’s perhaps why she’s so anti-bike lane too. She’s seen they work, but we build them so slowly that we’re very unlikely to have a bike network
Deagle Gammon says some trees don’t survive. And says residents are choosing which bills to pay, so robbing Peter to pay Paul is just part of life right now in this affordability crisis this year.
Purdy asking why we’d plant trees? The same person who asked why old buses past their normal end of life would be more expensive to maintain than brand new ones?
