Overall products designed for men have better quality, lasting longer, and casting less than the female version. Super true for shoes and clothing. If you aren't trying to dress as a little girl or a sex object try the men's departments.

The pink tax is all about ensuring women remain economically dependent on men, which keeps women "in line" (that is, not reporting DV, not reporting sexual harassment at work, not reporting rape, etc. for fear of repercussions to their economic stability.)
