Trolls don’t post to have a good faith discussion, they post to get a rise out of people. Ignore or block them, your timeline and mental health will be better for it.

You can always check their replies to see how they engage, but if all they do is troll don’t waste your precious time with them.

I have had a couple of interactions that started negatively but ended positively (but never with a politics troll) so I acknowledge that a respectful exchange is possible. I save my energy for in-person discussions, you have more fortitude than I do in attempting online discourse of this nature.
