That, and MERCHANTS GET CHARGED TO ALLOW YOU TO USE A CARD. Yeah, merchants lose a percentage of the sale when you swipe a debit or credit card.
Credit card taps take less than 2 seconds. Or having your barcode scanned (I'm guessing that's a thing outside Japan?). Plus, free money rewards with no fee.
Cash is just for the arcade or capsule toys.
17 credit cards all with certain benefits at different establishments with cash back.
Approximately US$30-40k spent with cards yearly to get about $1000 cash back.
It takes effort to arrange, but very worth it
honestly it's not like both have their uses and times where they aren't a good option

no electronics to rely on, so it can't go down. the number of places with remote card readers that say 'it'll take a while, the signal is bad' is funny. you don't need any signal for cash.
more privacy, no banks looking at what you do
plus it's legal tender
