If our Congress isn't doing anything to help us, then we, the people, actually need to start doing the heavy lifting. Are we ready to do this? Are the people motivated enough to reach across the aisle and lend compassion to our willfully ignorant neighbors and lift ourselves up to fight back?
I think people are more than willing to reach across the aisle to those neighbors. The issue is that those willfully ignorant neighbors look at us like we are the enemy, thanks to constant lies and misinformation. How do you get through to them?
This is my insignifican opinion but we have to start strengthen us first. We have to find our people and organize. A lot articles and people recomend start local. Other reaching out to our representatives. I have seem amazing results when we do come together example the I C E tip line 😆 other
After having a community we try to reach others outside and we should share and look for the experts and leaders. Like the original comment the ones inside the cult is a waste of time is the ones that did not show up and the ones that flip after 2020
As much as I want to hold out hope that we can do the same, watching the confirmation hearings yesterday just makes my heart sink. We’ve lost moderate R lawmakers who prioritize country over party. They were all pushed out in 2020 😕
Yes, and too many Democrats are still playing the bipartisan game instead of standing together. Even if every cabinet pick gets in, I would rather see it done with a 50/50 tiebreaker than a bipartisan vote.
Many sources cite the United States as the oldest modern democracy. While other countries are older, they haven't consistently operated under a democratic system throughout their histories.
San marino the oldest const.(1600) less influential & collection of involving laws. The us constit. (1788) is called the oldest written constitution -STILL in use due to the specific framework of -MODERN democracy introducing checks and balances that have INFLUENCE many of the other nations systems.
Gotcha. It may be oldest, but it's not anywhere close to be a decent Democracy for ordinary folks. Peeps can't even vote directly. The framers didn't even consider that someone elected could be a traitor and corrupt to the core. All these checks and balances are just useless.
Of all the countries in the world today it is the oldest democracy in the world. Sure states like Athens and Rome had older democracies but they no longer exist.
You are not the oldest democracy. It’s the UK
The important fact is not the age of democracies but the terrible menace that lurking neofascism supposes world wide.
.... MODERN democracy I am not going back to Athens or acient or old countries not born in it. Then don't read, if we are going to pick on in words ignoring that since founded united states have keep their style of government pretty much intact go ahead be my guest https://www.weforum.org/stories/2019/08/countries-are-the-worlds-oldest-democracies/
He should have been disqualified for Jan 6th when the House impeached him. McConnell with his “courts will decide” crap could have prevented all of this.
