Once again I am pleading for those who appeal to "Britain's Judeo-Christian traditions" to identify the Judeo bit of whatever it is they are talking about. The York pogrom? The expulsion of 1290? The 1905 Aliens Act?

honestly? I think it represents a consistent worldview of (some) Christianity that Christianity itself is "Judeo-Christian" in the sense that it has entirely replaced Judaism and we don't need any of that anymore.

personally I think you can draw a direct line:
1. from the values of the Roman Empire to Christian supercessionism
2. from supercessionism itself to the Holocaust, obviously. but also to every place where European missionary-colonialism felt it right to wipe out existing cultures.

nah. I remember hearing/reading it in the 1980s. it was the way to say "we are Christian, yes, but also we do not want to be associated with the church's many failings over the Holocaust pls that was done in another country and besides the wench is dead"

Right. Of course. I remember asking in church once if that logic meant that Islam was the replacement for Christianity - a 3.0 roll out - and it went down very badly indeed.

If your beliefs focus around a single undeniable truth, then anyone who doesn’t buy into that is by default an enemy I guess. Particularly if accepting that truth is baked into what your perceptions of who is treated like a human and who isn’t.
