It is indeed sad that this has to be said.
Unless its a fanevent… leave folks alone. Like it‘s great if you run into them by chance. Maybe wave or something and then go your merry way. Mention it maybe later to them that it was you. In case it may cause confusion.
BUT! DO. NOT. SEEK. THEM.

Im sad that I have to say this, but please don't seek out people you know or watch at casual events
If Im going to a party, its not to network, its not a meet and greet, please respect my boundaries, I am a real person, oftentimes I am already very anxious at irl events

As a viewer or fan…you are not a friend or a person close to them. It makes folks with anxiety such as OP or myself super uncomfortable when we get approached by strangers.
Friendship builds over time.. and just because the person is nice to you
Leave them the fuck alone unless its a fanevent, a meet and greet or a convention. Then yes they expect to be maybe recognised and approached.
But not in a bar/party,
Like…. what the hell is wrong with you?!
Also friendly reminder that not everyone is an extrovert.
Many streamers and artist I know are rather introverted and parties/clubs are usually already spiking our anxiety. We don‘t need nosy folks to make it worse
And then post-event blaming me because I shouldnt be at events if I dont want to be bothered in that way 😭
People need to learn that no matter how popular/famous a person is: THEY OWE YOU NOTHING!
They dont owe you recognition nor an interaction.
I despise this kind of entitlement.
I‘m really sorry that happened.
I tend to fangirl about people too… but its more… I wanna raise them in the air and be like „LOOK AT THIS AWESOME PERSON!“
I would explode in social anxiety…
Like I wouldn‘t like that either, why would I do it to others?
