Our entire - fifth, was it? - grade was taken to a Cinerama screening of this, followed by a BYO picnic lunch in a park not far from the theater, but neither of which was anywhere near our town(!). Almost dream-like or hallucinatory... why "Ice Station Zebra" for several dozen pre-adolescents?

I keep asking a similar question when it came to my mother taking me with her date to see Tommy in the movie theater. I think I was seven or eight when I was taken there and it wasn't until I was an adult that I understood the whole premise of it.
