True. They are a little cheaper to run in the long term. But far more expensive to build, take longer to build, and have a much higher environmental impact.

They are using an existing EA at Darlington. We need need more load growth, can't let it get replaced with gas. Smrs aren't that quick to build for bit more in the time frame you can 700MW more. Seems like an easy choice. https://youtu.be/cZ8us9IQKhg?feature=shared
