I am around 11yo boys nonstop (my sons friends) and a) they rarely know what day of the week it is b) do not read the news much and no way they did when me too broke+ far fewer had cell phones c) think kissing is gross, and are not knowledgable about "sexual assault" + what it means

They were opting out of education long before then. Even in the ‘90s, colleges were staging their promotional campus photos to show more men than women, so the guys wouldn’t be scared off from applying. (might have to study and ‘compete’ with people whose success would ‘shame’ you?)

If you blame someone else for your situation (whatever it is) you will never achieve your goals. It takes work, being honest with yourself, wiliness to make the necessary changes and seeing opportunities in unexpected places.
