If progressives want to win back young men, then they must talk to them and address their needs, instead of constant scolding. All the finger wagging just drives them to Rogan, Peterson, and the Tate brothers. And they DO talk to young men.

I see this in some of my students- young men who will roll their eyes at the very mention equity or systemic inequality. We need to consider ways to engage, but many aren't beginning from a place where they consider women to be equal human beings. Dehumanization cannot be addressed with compromise.

Remember people may not remember what you say, but they remember how you make them feel.

Regardless of what or how we perceive/think of them, they feel a certain type of way. Somewhere along the way someone (society? School? Parents?) made them feel their only worth is their terrible impulses.

The only things they "need" is therapy and hobbies outside of competing . I'll advocate for that all day. They problem is obtaining power/status (real or fake) is always presented as more appealing then obtaining peace and mental fortitude.

Young men don't all need therapy. In most cases their problems aren't clinical. Because their problem is patriarchy. They need to learn that women are human. It's a cultural problem much more than a psychological one.

Therapy doesnt always have to be due to clinical reason or mental disorders. It may be the only safe space for them to communicate freely and that could be the start.

I do agree its a cultural/ patriarchy issue, but you'll be hard pressed to get them to change in groups due to Bravado and pressure

Also young men and boys make up large majority of suicide rate and thats from the CDC.

So we have a large number of young men and boys self harming and joining radical/cult beliefs.

They need therapy cause whatever is happening at home, online, in their community or in school isn't helping.

Therapy helped me with masculinity issues, but only because I decided to take a women's studies class when I was 19 and was already interrogating that masculinity.

Men don't attempt suicide much more often than women, but they succeed much more frequently because they are more likely to use guns.
