Today I once more feel like contemplating the tattoos I will probably never get. This is the first, and the most likely that I *would* get. My friend @elvabirch.bsky.social drew it.

This is the cover to Elfquest: Shards, issue 15. I have been not getting this as a tattoo for nearly thirty years now, and expect to continue in that vein.
Actually, I don't exactly want *this*. I want this but like done in a style more like the above. Sketchier. Something. Inspired By, like.
IDK if I exactly want an X symbol, but it'd be harder to screw up than any Rogue or Gambit imagery, and one of my reasons for not getting tattoos is that I'm a picky, picky bitch with little tolerance for deviation from the image I *want*. And it'd certainly be fandom-suitable for me, regardless.
As somebody who wants an *Elfquest* tattoo, *this* is still the one I think as deep-cut nerddom. I might have this, or at least a, necklace of it somewhere already.
(What it is is in the alt text but my deep-cut nerd soul wants to know how many people just recognize it on its own. :))
(actually if i were going to get rogue and gambit tattoos i would probably lean heavily toward Lucas Werneck's X-Men97 depictions of them, because they're...not simple, exactly, but possibly borderline iconic. but i like the rogue a LOT more than gambit's, so idk.)
(it's also just occurred to me for the first time ever that for an elfquest one, bearclaw's wolfhead necklace might actually be better, it's certainly simpler and it's not like normal people would know what either of them were anyway)
Yeah, some people are absolute artists, some are excellent with the tools of tattoo, and finding that perfect artist combo for the art you like is a journey.
Beautiful work. But would it translate well?
(This is like getting a simple rose done. Not so simple to get one done well.)
I've only got one tattoo, on my upper back: an anarchy symbol that Angel Greenwood drew for me back in the long ago days. If I was to get a second it would be Cap's shield, which would make an interesting matching pair.
I love it. How big is it? (Also I have this weird, obviously not real but still definitely observable, conviction I know your friend Angel, because of Angel in the books. :) Or not KNOW her, but like there's a CONNECTION. *laughs*)
