Also, I already lost like 70% of that new following overnight because Twitter regularly deletes bot/dead accounts. If a lot of artists feel like they’re experiencing stagnation, don’t blame themselves, blame Twitter!

I barely ever got any engagement on my twitter posts. Been on there since 2017, 108 followers. Been here on bluesky for a couple months and I'm already to 70 followers. It's crazy, but I'm loving every second of it.
I really needed to read this. Having lost almost 1k followers on Twitter this last month, and having my art tank in numbers across all my socials, has been really affecting my confidence in my work, as of late. I know my art doesn't suck and I'm not to blame, but it's been tough remembering that.
That's exactly what I try to remember every day. It can be rough to remind ourselves of that in our line of work, but it's always a good thing to remember.
I understand it is rolling the dice but I been having a hard time getting the account up since Twitter and some of it stuck with me when I moved here, I need to ask, do you have to do something consistent or do funny comics? I feel I improved but not seeing it reflected is kinda harsh.
Actually I disagree. Twitter used to be really good for artists. But things changed when the algorithm prioritized frequent posting (which a lot of artists can’t catch up with) and then outrage content and videos
I must have shown up there at a time where it wasn't. But the point still stands, Twitter is not really an artist friendly place, what with the algorithm and the constant dramas plaguing the place. It's hard to make a real living there as an artist.
