Thanks for sharing the link! It seems like she started high school in during covid which was definitely a missed opportunity for supports. Regardless she was not given the supports she needed long before high school 😕

The school neglected her education and gave her a terrible, verbally abusive special education case-worker. She has ADHD and Dyslexia but wasn't diagnosed until very recently.

Yes it looks like she had been diagnosed with ADHD pretty early on and had been classified as a student with a disability since early in her education. But school system definitely neglected her from grades 1-12. Bc of the language barrier her mom couldn't really advocate for her either.

I wonder how suing will help her. It definitely will give a platform for other students that may be passing thru but I wonder if they can pay for her education and additional services

Money from a settlement could help her afford private tutors. Plus if it's on the record she was a victim of educational neglect she can leverage that for additional services at university.

She's illiterate, she doesn't know what a lawsuit is. This is a law firm picking someone to try and profit from the system. And who is she going to sue exactly. There's no mandate to make you learn. She was given a diploma just like they can give you an honorary degree. They don't have to flunk you.

The worst part is that she is in fact a smart and hard working person. She figured out how to use technology to help her understand the content of her assignments and spent hours working at her homework every night. She didn't get any help so she did it on her own. This kid deserved so much better.
