I was thinking of keeping Instagram and deleting Facebook and xitter. Glad there will be more options. The real question is will kids use it? The only reason my old ass uses stuff like Instagram is to see what the kids post (since they never come out of their caves) other than feeding time

On my app (android) it allows mixed formats for the pics - portrait and landscape. Maybe not panoramic ones but it's gotten better

Good. I just deleted my two instagram accounts. Now just need a Facebook type setup for staying connected and everything would be covered.

The one thing that is kinda cool about this is that it is your normal bluesky feed, it just focuses on to photo posts, and gives a good presentation for them. No need to juggle multiple accounts, refollow people, etc.

Even if it were built on its own backend, with it using the same protocol as Bluesky it could still use the user’s existing Bluesky social graph (following and followers.)

Still, a picture-focused client is great!

From my understanding, you'll still login with your BS account, and everything will be the same, it just will let you focus on photos.

Honestly, I'm jazzed for it. I try to follow the same people across different social media stuff, and when I get the photo itch this will make it easier for me.

Yeah. For example, there’s an existing blogging platform called Whitewind on top of AT Protocol. My blog posts on there intrinsically linked to my Bluesky account.
