I have been happily married a long time and people will ask what works, I answer “respect” never, not once in the 40 years we have been together has he called me a bitch or sworn at me. Both of us tend to swear in general, but never to each other. Don’t stay with people who treat you like shit.

I know a woman that's 5'2" and about 170 pounds. She's still skinny as a Louisville Slugger. So I don't believe that. Her thighs are as big around as a medical oxygen tank. The BMI chart is a horrible determining factor of what's overweight, or not. It's the Kinsey scale of fatness.

Is it also harder for women to lose weight? My doctor said I needed to lose weight. All I did was change my eating habits & lost 25 in 3 months. My wife did basically the same & didn't lose much at all. I feel bad. I wish she could have it as easy.

Muscle burns fat simply to be maintained. Men generally have more muscle mass than women & lose weight more easily. Also, women are genetically programmed to maintain a minimum weight in order to get pregnant. Losing too much threatens that ability, so her body will resist weight loss.

I've always remembered a Cathy cartoon wherein her boyfriend, Irving, had gained about 30 lbs. A week or so later she sees him & he's back to his original weight. He says he just didn't eat lunch for a week. You can image the look on Cathy's face.
