It's genuinely been so demotivating to have to rebuild a following here after abandoning twitter, it's why I don't post as much and I feel like it's not worth it. I know it's only temporary but maaaan

I feel like it's a bit refreshing! I had a bit of a following on Twitter, but I hardly got to see posts from all the people I followed. Here tho, I've been able to fully see all the art, content, and posts of people I follow and it's so great. Like a fresh piece of land to cultivate like in Stardew!
unfortunately I can't see it as just a video game, as a person with social anxiety, getting to that point was already a giant undertaking and to redo all of that does not spark joy.

It’s rough just to even come to this as much as Twitter. Most of the people I follow on Twitter still mostly post there. It’s going to take time that’s for sure.
Try not to write off the success you already have here as well 46,000 people you can kind of forget when it's just a number but that is a lot of individual people that have taken time to follow you because of what you do be proud
An unfortunate product of one of the worst possible people taking over an entire website is that the digital refugees will be expected to build a new life, and part of building that new life is finding out which friends made the journey, and making a fresh community of people who are also stranded.
Its always a struggle, i usually try to just remind myself how much of the following number on twitter was either bots or people that clicked follow and never engaged after the first time.
To be fair, a good chunk of anyone's following on twitter including mine was also part bots and another part abandoned/dead accounts due to the site's sheer age. It's much more engaging here and so much more positivity!
do mind that a huge percentage of your "followers" on twitter were just bots. I think it was Jo who mentioned it a while back, but while your follows are smaller, your engagement goes way harder than Twitter ever did.
The following here may be smaller, but I guarantee you that it's more active. Big number may be good, but so is having people actually engage with what you say.
Keep working through the sad. It will be worth it <3
Quality over quantity, but yeah it is demoralising. Though every time I have to go over there (because some companies refuse to come here) I am reminded exactly why I abandoned it.
