I'm hoping for a wargame that has "pocket money" pricing. We don't really have those anymore these days, and I think we need them to get new blood/the next generation into the hobby.

I'm definitely waiting to see how the rules turn out, but monopose is definitely a bummer.

...that said a friend already promised to get into it because it's Gundam and I didn't even have to bug him about it so I am hype.

I'm hoping that they're fairly inexpensive to compensate for such. They don't have to be as intricate as an Artifact kit, as such would chase a number of people away.

also looks like it's more of a board game than a miniatures game, given that fairly small hexgrid board.
the minis looks like they're going for the 'collectable' approach, being basically an update of the old gashapon gundam figures. monopose multipart micro-statues, basically.

3300 Yen, but it's $35 USD, which means at minimum it's going to be $55-60 CAD per starter, but in reality it'll be even higher if purchased in Canada. There better be some really good and juicy things in those boxes, because that price pretty much kills any desire I have for the game.

I mean wanting GW to not have total dominance in the TT Wargaming market IS a good thing to want.

Genuine competition amongst companies forces them to adopt more consumer friendly practices, lest they get buried by the competition.
