I have a friend who's a Niners fan who calls me all kinds of names everytime I say "it's over man" and they refuse to believe me that it's how this team is. Then they tell me I don't know what pain is because my team hasn't lost the SB in 44 years. 🤷‍♂️

Dude is a menace. My thoughts are: is it worse to lose 5 straight NFC title games and never believe they'll even make the SB, or going to the SB twice in the last 5 years even if you lose them? I dunno, feels like getting the chance at a win is better than never getting there or believing they cant

I don't mean to be a jerk, but this fan base and the degree to which they feel sorry for themselves is a pretty unique thing.

Like, most people blame their owner or GM or coach. Vikings fans believe they are cosmically doomed to be a...pretty good team.

The reason that series resonates w ppl is that it is a pair of non-Vikings fans reconstructing that history & validating that unique feeling even as they had explored other heartbreak franchises like (Falcons, Mariners)
