Claims in the Russian media, if true, indicate that the Russians may be in breach of the UK's export conditions that are intended to ensure the project has some conservation benefits.The UK government is sending these endangered elvers to a fate that is at best uncertain, and cannot protect them.

Not one single conservationist has come forward to defend this Russian project, because there is no evidence that it has any conservation intent or content. There is lots of evidence - which is why the Minister has taken notice of this campaign and is currently reviewing the export policy.

You give Trump too much credit for knowing anything, and as for UN peacekeepers, they failed to prevent the Srebrenica genocide - so the idea they'd influence Putin is a fantasy. The only thing Putin fears is NATO, and Trump's handlers are intent on neutering that.
