It’s much worse than annoying. CT has the highest electric rates in the lower 48! The energy crisis in the whole region is a huge economic problem, second only to the housing crisis in economic impact.

New England shut down a bunch of profitable nukes. It is at the end of the pipe for natgas, meaning high prices -- particularly since heating also relies on NG. I'm not even sure if offshore wind will be that great at helping -- but you have to build it to find out. Etc, etc, etc.

Thank you for sharing this news @jamesfeigenbaum.bsky.social!! What’s so wrong about clean energy?! Wouldn’t it make sense to diversify our sources of energy rather than put all of our “eggs” in once basket? Annoyed. 😒 I better buckle up for the next four years.
