If swallowed, water beads can expand in a child's intestines and cause injuries or death. Do not gift water beads to young children this holiday season.

I thought that was the stuff in the water beds, but I'm guessing drinking that is also bad. Reminds me of marbles. Sometimes they look like they should be candy, but noooo its just painted glass with Texture.
Ok but what’s its purpose? Ya know what, never mind. I’m just going with my gutter brain’s suggestion of what it’s used for & I gotta say, you shouldn’t be giving water beads to any age of children
in toys: to be a squishy texture, and to be a wet ish variation on nerf guns, vaguely aimed at a little higher age group (they hit kinda hard like paintballs sorta.)
I banned them from our house after they kept putting the dried out beads in their pockets and I’d find shredded water beads at the bottom of the washing machine.
When my daughter was 9 months old and crawling, she had piece of piece of rubber (the cap) in her mouth from the end of the door stop and I didn't even think it came off.
Seems like they could easily make it dissolve in the stomach acid because of its low ph and water ph being 7... as for choke hazard idk... but surely there is some chemistry they could do to make them non toxic if consumed. right?
I panicked because I didn't know what water beads are (I see you added an explainer!) but then I remembered I don't have kids. So...I can sit back down again I guess.
I feel like I’d be more concerned about giving them to kids old enough to use them appropriately, but too young to make sure not to allow younger siblings access to them. So maybe “don’t give to people in homes with young children” (at least not without parental agreement of supervision)?
(And yes, I did see the part at the bottom about that homes with young children shouldn’t have water beads. But I meant more about the basic line of “don’t give to little kids.”)
at least lawn darts were lots of fun and did such a good job of training brains about parabolic arcs, water beads just seem like something for youtubers to make questionable videos about
