The Nazis were not defeated by legal means. Liberals tried to fight them that way for almost 20 years, all that achieved was to waste time. During which the Nazis seized power, began the holocaust, and started World War Two.

The Nazis made everything they did legal, because they were the government. They were not stopped by courts, legislation, or treaties. They were finally stopped by people *shooting them.*

I mean *I* am prepared to go to jail for my convictions but a lot of people aren’t. That’s just reality. I would prefer people don’t comply at all, but my point was that even if you want to follow the law, not complying is perfectly reasonable

At this point, yes. These actions are not yet held up by law so not complying will not get you in legal trouble right now. But at some point they will be made law, and at that point it will be just as bad for people to comply, especially with the laws that enact suppression of dissent and genocide.

Look, we agree. You are going after someone on your side. I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to the people in charge who are ALREADY folding. They’re ALREADY complying. They are the ones that need to be convinced, and “you should go to jail” is not a winning argument. It just isn’t.

I appologize for coming accross as being agressive towords you. I was mostly speaking generally as well, while using your post as a jumping off point. But, I do strongly disagree that we should be telling anyone, at any time, "it's ok to comply with fascism if you don't wanna go to jail."

Whether or not it's a "winning strategy" to tell people they should never comply with fascism even if it gets them in legal trouble, is irrelevant. It's correct. Some fights have to be fought because they're right, not because you know you'll win.

I think you’ll find that I did not say that. I don’t love waking up to being accused of facilitating fascism, so while appreciate your intent, that is not how it was received.
